Question for all you fellas... My truck has 27000k on her and the OEM brakes are squeeky. I don't tow and don't have a lead foot. I want to upgrade. I was gonna go the PS Z36 kit route but have heard they don't last to long. So, my gal asked what I wanted for Xmas. I asked for the EBC Yellowstuff pad kit. I thought of having my OEM rotors turned even though they are not warped and then putting on thenew EBC pads. Whatcha think? Good way to go or no????

Power stop rotors with their pads or the EBC.

Power Stop K2163 Front Brake Kit with Drilled/Slotted Brake Rotors and Z23 Evolution Ceramic Brake Pads https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005FL2QLU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zvx9DbSAT3489

Power Stop K2172 Rear Brake Kit with Drilled/Slotted Brake Rotors and Z23 Evolution Ceramic Brake Pads https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005FL35UQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Xvx9Db04DW03F

Hope this helps... I'm totally sold on them. No matter what you get, break in the new brakes correctly... Look on power stops site, they'll give instructions.

Even if the rotors aren't warped
I would still get them turned
(If you're not gonna replace)

They can be glazed over & still squeal
Even with new pads

I upgraded my brakes with EBC stage 3 slotted/dimpled rotors and green stuff pads. Highly recommended upgrading rotors instead of just having them turned.

I have 40,000km on my EBC brakes and highly recommend them

If my brakes dont pulse but are a little noisy and have good pads I respray the antisqueal stuff on the back of the pads and relube the pins and roll on down the road. The way I roll....and stop

I

Why did you choose the green as opposed to green or red. Thanks
I went with green for a few reasons. They are best for initial bite, and work best instantly in cold weather. And since where I am from I’ve experienced upwards of -54 Celsius before the windchill they seemed like a no brainer for me lol

Makes perfect sense. Thanks again. Dayum, those are some cold temps.

Those drilled and slotted rotors look nice,
but I do believe they are completely unnecessary for street driven vehicles.
A softer gripper pad on a full surface rotor will provide better braking under normal use.
We are not supposed to be road racing on the highways.
Even long downgrades with heavily loaded pickups slotted drilled rotors are not necessary.
If you are overheating and burning out pads and rotors you may need to slow the heck down,
and stop endangering other drivers.
Just my two cents and opinion.

Squeaky brakes are not necessarily an indication of any problem or need to replace. Usually just means they could use lubrication. However, if they squeal at all times, whether brakes are engaged or not, it may be the wear indicators.
I do understand and just wanting to change the pads anyway, for a relatively cheap mod to improve braking or get less brake dust on the wheels. I am not convinced that there is much to be gained from "special" rotors. I think any coated rotor (they will look nicer longer) from a brand name will suffice. I would expect your original rotors are still totally fine as well. I would not machine the rotors unless needed, as you will be removing part of the surface of the rotor for no reason.
I'm happy with the Akebono premium ceramic pads on my 2500, good braking, low dust. I drive responsibly, so I have no input if you are trying to race.:)
