Hey everyone!

Test drove two Rams yesterday and I think I fell in love. Both were executive vehicles.

1 was 2020 with 20k miles and rebel. 56k

1 was 2020 with 11k miles and limited 61k

Really loved the luxury feel of the limited.

Dealership basically told me they could take like 500 off but that’s it. My question is, is that what you all have been seeing? Is this pricing competitive?
Thanks!!

Right now is a bad time to be buying a vehicle. Inventory is low and prices are WAY up on both new and used vehicles. Probably going to be this way for a while longer as well. If you can do without I would wait a year, if you can't your going to have to pay the piper.

What he said. [emoji3]

This is especially the case for SUVs and pickups right now. I tried my damnedest to find a good lease deal on a new 2021 limited over the past few months but the lease rebates just aren’t there to bring the payments down to something I would consider reasonable. Compared to the lease rebates back in 2018 when I leased my current 2018 1500 Limited Tungsten edition - the available rebates are 50% less. So, I bought out my current lease instead. My truck is currently worth 6-7k more private sale than the lease purchase price, resulting from high demand, so I’ll just hold onto what I have for now.

Ya that’s the sense that I’m getting all around. Demand is very high for the supply. Appreciate all your input!

Also get on KBB.com and check vehicle pricing in your area for each truck.

Trucks are through the roof. I got my Ram back for a steal from my dad, but man he had a tough time finding what he wanted in a F150. He way over paid, but there was nothing. He wanted a Lariat or Limited 5.0 Crew cab 4x4. They did not exist. He ended up with a higher milage Lariat Ecoboost. I would not honestly buy anything right now.

I wouldn't even look at a used truck right now. You could end up paying as much or more than you will for new. I checked the value on mine last night using kbb.com's instant offer. It valued my 2020 Laramie at $50,330. My out the door price back in October of 2019 was right around $50,200 ($58,150 MSRP). I could actually make money on it if I were to sell it right now. I've also read that people aren't getting nearly as good of deals on new trucks, but I don't have any first-hand knowledge of that. I would at least look at new if I were you. Times are crazy right now.

I had been watching the used market for the last year get worse and worse, finally I needed to move on from my current truck so I ended up ordering new. Never thought I would do that, but with the used market so high it was pointless to go used. I ended up getting a little over 16% off msrp with 0% on a factory order on a longhorn, all considered with the current circumstances, I'm happy with that. The used trucks I was looking at were 2019's with around 20k miles on them, for around 6-8k less than what I ordered. And of course, going used would mean no 0%.

Now the good side for me is seeing how much I can get for my 17, which right now is anywhere between 3,000-4,500 more than my trade in offer from a month ago. Very crazy times indeed, but with what I can get for my current truck I really want my new one to start being built!!

Ya I’m quickly starting to realize that the money saved on a 1-2 yr old trucks is getting less and less haha. I’m currently in no rush but I appreciate all the input. I’ll keep looking and if something pops up I’ll jump in it
