After watching a bunch of dash cam videos on YouTube I decided to get one for my protection. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on it but I wanted a decent picture and I think I found the right balance. I got a Nextbase 222. It's front only. Walmart had it for $71 online and $79 in the store. The store matched the online price. It is $79 on Amazon too. It records in 1080 and it has a nice picture during the day. I haven't used it at night yet because I just bought it today but the YouTube videos I've seen of it at night are pretty good. It also has park protect which is nice. I'm not sure how I'm going to wire it yet. Right now it's just plugged into my battery cig lighter. I hid the wire pretty well so it may stay that way for a while. The switched one has my radar detector in it.

Nice. Once you've gotten used to it, report back on the quality and whatnot. I went with a Rexing a year ago, it does pretty well.

The Rexing V1 basic was my second choice. In the reviews the Nextbase had a few issues with being in a hot car too long but only a few mentioned that but a great build quality. According to the reviews the Rexing basic had a few quality issues and screens dying after a year but had a great picture. It really came down to the fact that I could buy the Nextbase in the store and the Rexing I had to order even though it was one day shipping and was cheaper. Ease of return wins. Walmart will take anything back.

I did too, but the one in my jeep, I can't get the app & the camera to hold hands...so I haven't put it in the Ram or SRT yet.

I am also interested in hearing how things go with this camera. I need to add one to the Jeep.

Keep us updated.. I'll get one if you like it.
Q: Can you keep the mount plugged into an "always hot" lighter? If it doesn't have a light it shouldn't drain the battery.

It needs a constant source for the park protect to work but I've decided to just leave the cam on when I'm at the store. At work or home I'll turn it off and let the park protect do its job.
