Just cancelled Sirius. Is there something better or as good?

I don't have any issues getting Sirius for $60 a year. I call in before just before my expiration date and say I want the same deal I had last year. Just set a calendar reminder on my phone. I load up my account with Sirius gift cards we get from Best Buy, so they can't hit our CC with any auto charges, etc. Just got the same deal started on the wife's new Pacifica too.

I also use podcasts through iHeart radio, which is free. And they can also be set to download so you're not dependent on a good cell signal.
That's exactly what I do every year.

I let it expire then let them call with their offers and tell them no, it has to be $5 month. Only use it on trips. Crappy sound compared to anything else, music wise.

Dropped sirius since the variety on Ozzy's Boneyard has diminished. Use amazon music now.
I like that it has deluxe edition albums; e.g. Led Zeppelin III with rough mixes, tracks with no vocals, alternate mixes, etc.
I have a 42 song Zeppelin playlist of misc stuff and songs never played on the radio, like "10 Ribs and All".

If all you want is music there are any number of alternatives. The problem is I'd rather listen to talk radio and there are few alternatives to SiriusXM. That's why I keep Sirius and also use podcasting apps from my phone through Android Auto.
I listen to talk radio through Iheart Radio. And you can set up music channels as well.

I renew evey 6 months on Sirius. $36 plus tax and fees, $44.95 for all XM channels. You can also play on your computer, smart phone, etc and use your phone to play in other vehicles.

SWMBO put Sirius on her cell, got 6 months free. We used it last week driving from Flatistan to Virginia on I95 and back. Bluetooted it into her system. Just a couple dropouts here and there.
How
I let my Sirius expire, just began receiving discounted offers, going to wait a while, i have not really left town in several months, so i don't really need it.

When i do sign up again, it will be on a card that's only good for a short period, like 6 months, so they can't get me on the full price of the following year
Every time we renew we threaten to quit if they can’t get price lower…….I think it’s about the price of 2 packs of cigarettes…cheap

Spotify. I have a 2009 that doesn’t support music over BT but I connect via an aux BT device and works great. Sirius/XM is dead in the streaming age. I had it and heard the same 30 songs over and over on Ozzy’s Boneyard…

I was glad to cut Sirius off.
I’m getting fine service from Spotify. For the same money I get two accounts.
Does anyone know how to get the Sirius current song from scrolling across the too of my 12” screen?

Try Dash radio. It's free and no commercials. It's also available on your Roku. I usually listen the the "The Strip". Its hair bands of the 80s.

You're right about the over and over at times. That channel is in the mix of channels I like. For me as an older guy, it's the convenience of the service. I hop in my truck and it's there at my finger tips without having to fiddle with my cell phone or other devices. My 2019 classic SLT has the small, basic touch screen head unit.

Sirius is the best.... however you have to argue with them just like any other company for service and pricing increases...
One would think that being a loyal company they'd give you discounts but they opt to raise prices...
We always avoided the "Trial Period" junk, NOW.... Not so much....
Cancel them and they will reach out with "Retention Branch" and give you at least the deal you had if not a better price to get you back........
Good luck....
I also use USB with CD's recorded on them.

I like Sirius. A lot of variety and no commercials.
I let my subscription lapse for a bit. When you do they practically beg you come back and offer service for dirt cheap. Just keep doing that every year.
Same here , I just play the game , I keep a reminder on my phone when my subscription expires . Couple days before I call and cancel , they offer some great deal , and I renew for another year , it always ends up being around $6.00 per month .

I do NOT know all the tech stuff like some of you may, so I am looking for other avenues other than Sirius. We have pretty good stations here. ( but of course commericals) So we decided to cancel Sirius because of this and to get rid of one more bill. If we decide to go back at some point they always send you a thing to get 3 years for $99 as well. So it is one more option but frankly I have Alexia radio in the house and shop and I believe it is free. Would it be possible to use? Thanks

I've had Sirius XM Platium since the day I purchased the truck. That includes Travel Link (GPS) and Travel plus. Just before it comes up for renewal I call and tell them I'm canceling it unles I get it for the orginial promo rate. Every year they reinstale it for 14.56/month.

I didn’t read all the posts here but Sirius is hard to beat in a lot of ways. Because it can be streamed, I put my account info into wife’s IPhone so she can stream it into her Civic…so both vehicles have it with only one subscription.

I want to THANK everyone for their input. It gives me a lot to think about. As well as look into. I do know on my 11 Ram they sent me an offer for $99 for 3 years (which I rarely drive now) . But on the 19 RAM they will go to $5 a month. So far the FM radio is doing ok and really no complaints and even better music than Sirius but I also mainly listen to gospel music. So thanks for giving me some good insights.
