5.7 but not true hemi
Just had the lighting bolt of death come on along with about 5-7 codes, truck is currently in limp mode. My local VIP said there is an update for pcm but dealership says there isn’t. Bought the truck with straight pipes and aftermarket cool air intake. I only replaced tires, brakes and 3 way coolant valve and differentials drained and fluid replaced. Truck ran great for 8 months until now, 163k miles. I am having trouble finding source of these problems. I hooked up a code reader when truck when in limp mode and got these codes P2138, P0653, P2127, P2681, P062A, P1628, P26A7. I got only 2 codes which were P0653 and P2681 when i turned the key 5 times and got codes through menu screen. Any help would be amazing or if anyone else had this issue with solutions.

Get that battery tested and swapped if needed. Could be something else but start there. Bad battery is root of all evil lol

Agreed. My son-in-law’s 2015 started displaying an error with the shift rotors system. Then a check engine light. He had replaced the battery 2 years ago at Walmart. I suggested he disconnect the battery over night to reset the computers. It worked for two days. He had the battery tested at autozone and it was good. I said install a new Napa or Interstate AGM battery for $225 and if it doesn’t work, I’ll pay for it. He opted for Napa AGM and has had no problems for four weeks. Apparently a weak cell was causing the issues though it tested good.

Battery is always the first place to start. Also give a gentle tug on the plug that goes into the throttle body. I have seen three times now were the locking nipple on the socket is broken or worn and the plug backs out. All it needs is a little bit to get the lightning bolt.
