My engine temperature light has just came on. It’s running at the 253 when going down the highway.

Does my screen look like it should. Just had an oil change a couple months ago but I don’t drive my truck often unless it’s the weekend. Still got about 3,000 miles before my next oil change. The last couple days my engine light has came on and I had the electric throttle control come on as well but disappears very quickly.

First thought is thermostat issue. 2nd is to check coolant and oil levels (do this first though). 3rd is shutters not opening.

I haven’t seen oil pressure that low in a running hemi but would need more info.

You didn’t provide info on driving conditions or what you have checked so thoughts on the issue are subject to change.

Truck normally sits during the week. I drive my car most of the time. It’s normally just a weekend vehicle. I drive the speed limit all the time.

That’s another thing to check given the miles and years on the truck. If the pump is not working then the coolant temp would rise very quickly. That would be noticeable.

Yeah it’s got a lot of miles on it. I bought the truck with 178,000 miles on it. It’s got 242,466

Found anti freeze bubbling up coming out of a rusted steel line going into the water pump.

Time to change the water pump. I don't think those tubes can be replaced. My new water pump had them on it.

Glad you found it! If thermostat has been in there a while I'd do it as well since you'll be putting new anti-freeze in anyways. Personal choice though.

Got a wrecker coming to get it. I have a good friend of mine that’s owns a shop and he’s gonna do it all. Pretty cheap too. $350.00

I hope I didn’t blow the head gaskets. I was on the highway and drove it back very slowly to the wrecker place. Truck was still running fine.

My mechanic called me today and told me that he’s fixed that leak. The water pump is still in working order. I have had some shaking while at idle and while backing up and they found that issue to a cylinder miss firing. So once they figure out which one they will take care of that as well.

Gonna cost $2,000-$2,500 to fix the cylinder and they found electrical issue as well.
