What plans do you have for camping this year. Just saw on the news that fuel (gas) is 2$ Canadian a litre so 200 cad to fill the pw it’s 1.49 a litre right now in Edmonton Alberta. One of the things that I want to do to my pw is an auxiliary fuel tank so that I can fill up whenever it’s cheaper. Guys that are pulling the Giant rolling houses is it going to limit your time or do you bite the bullet and pay. The fuel tax might be good for the environment but it is going hurt the tourism industry. We used to go to bc every year and spend a minimum of 1000-2000 cad not now

I bite the bullet, but we're cheaper here in the states, in South Jersey we were at 3.11 a gallon yesterday, about .82 a liter, but it changes everyday around here. Only two trips we have planned so far this year, Going to Niagra Falls again in June, and meeting up with my brother at the Chrysler Carlisle Nationals in July. Need to start planning a few more. My wife had me pay for the darn camper, I'm going to use it. :)

Like others....we don't worry about it.......we are retired and deserve to go.....the heck with the kids inheritance! Also......we reduced the size of our trailer years ago.....with just the wife...the dog and me.....we now pull a 17ft Casita. It has everything we need......bed....stove...frig....and full bathroom and shower. My RAM doesn't even know it's back there. We love camping!

We’re planning another trip to the Badlands in South Dakota, a little over 3k miles round trip. Day trips will probably add another 500 miles. I’m expecting about $1200 in fuel for the trip, but like Jawzs2 said, I bought it, so I’m using it.
We’ll probably do a trip out to west Texas in the fall and a few local camping weekends throughout the year.

Here is my take on this....if you have the time and money to do whatever it is that you love doing, do it!! I am 44 and have stage 4 pancreatic cancer and not much time left on this planet. We have taken our kids on many great vacations over the years and I am glad we have. You never know when something bad will happen to you or your family, so live your life to the fullest!!! Whatever you enjoy doing, do it as often as you can. Live like today is your last day because you just never know...it just might be. Let your family and friends know you love them every day and let the petty **** go!!! Just my 2 cents!!

Also sorry to hear, I survived a few life threatening episodes as well, gives you a whole new perspective on life. I'm not a huge Garth Brooks fan, but I listened to If Tomorrow Never Comes quite a bit, and probably Alan Jackson's The Older I Get even more.

I am sorry for your pain I have prostate cancer myself. My wife and I bought 5 acres west of Edmonton. But the price of fuel is a bit of a bummer but you are right live each day like it’s your last if you can

Sorry to hear about your cancer. Always keep up the fight!! Every doctor I have seen says I can't win this fight...that is not my mentality. I am as competitive a person as there is, and I stay positive and keep trying to prove them all wrong. You do the same. Never give up!!

I can only imagine how difficult it was for you and your kids to see that and to go through that. That is one of my biggest worries/issues with the cancer I'm dealing with. It doesn't bother me...I can deal with it. I don't like the hand I've been dealt, but I can/will deal with it. I see my wife cry almost daily...I can see it with my kids how it affects them and I hate it. My son is 17 and an absolutely great kid...it scares me so much that when I pass away what it could do to him. He's at that age where you see them turn to alcohol or drugs or something bad that ruins their life when they go through something like this. We have a great group of family and friends to make sure that doesn't happen, but you just never know.
Back to more on topic of the OP...our family loves to go boating and camping, so when the weather gets a bit better that is what we plan on doing. We are going to try and get the boat and camper out as much as possible...it is one of our "happy places."

Eventhough inflation has been ridiculous and prices of everything seem to have gone through the roof, we will continue to make memories doing what we love as much as possible. If there is anything I can leave to this group at ramforum...that would be it. Make lasting memories with your close family and friends. Make the time daily to hug them and tell them you love them. Calm down...take a few seconds to think about something that might upset you and most of the time in the big picture it isn't a big deal, so let it go.

I think you have the right idea. Your missus and kids probably won’t tell you how much it is hurting them but by telling them you love them and doing what you love they will remember the good times My kids are in their thirties now and my son is autistic so it’s hard for him. Good luck with your fight.

We have about 10 trips scheduled this year already. Most are close to home (30-60 minutes) with about three further away (3.5 hours - that's usually the max I like to keep it at). We mostly stay at the campground when we go and just enjoy being outside and walking. Couple of the trips we'll go out to eat/get ice cream/explore, etc. and many of the trips we'll be with friends. Gas prices suck but it is what it is. About 10 years ago almost lost my wife (and then again about 3 years later) so we'll get as many memories in as possible. Happy camping!
