I began using the Lubeguard biotech as many in this thread have for the last few oil changes, as I approached 100k miles I wanted to increase the moly bc of what others on here have said about it. Now, my motor has been relatively quiet for all of its life, but figured a little extra moly couldn't hurt. I'm now at 112,000 on my 2015 hemi and ready for another oil change soon.

Now, I realize that Lubeguard wasn't tested specifically in the video below, but I've always felt that most oil additives were just not worth it, mostly snake oil ( no pun intended ). I have no idea what Lubeguard biotech does to the oil itself in terms of degradation, but this guy knows his stuff and I'm likely going to stop using it moving forward. I have a used oil analysis sample here from about 8 months ago while using about 10-11 ounces with a 7 quart fill. The 12/30/22 change at 98,000 miles is when I started using the lueguard. The most recent UOA looks fine, but is it really worth possibly degrading the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum that I use?????? I think I'll just stick with the straight PUP oil on its own from here on out.

Thoughts?

That guy is clueless.
He can't even follow the bottle's directions.

Seaform in oil - the recommended use is about 100 miles BEFORE the oil change.

Yea, i'm not arguing that the video may have cherry picked some of the lesser quality additives and adding seafoam to your oil isn't for long term use, but this guy has more knowledge about oil lubrication and the oil industry in his left pinky than most of us have in our entire body.

For the Canucks on here CanWest in Edmonton still seems to have the lowest prices on LubeGard

Amazing how much the amazon.ca price went up. I bought 4 of the large bottles for 52 bucks each about 5 months ago. Now they are 90 bucks, damn near double. The Edm outlet is definitely cheaper now. Luckily I have enough for quite a while.

The Amazon price was an eye opener Dean,i looked at it when you were buying it awhile back, and back then it was cheaper then CanWest, but it sure took a hell'va jump in price since then.

40902 is biotech, don't worry if you bought HD biotech

dahum, 12 pack for 75 smokes USA??

Since Burla says 30916 is the same stuff, I will take his word over pretty much anybody else, but thanks Sling.

Since this one ships to Canada, even with exchange and shipping it is a bit cheaper than buying it here. The 12 pack on Ebay, that Burla posted, is cheaper yet, by a lot, even with shipping and exchange.

Lubegard 30916 Heavy Duty Engine Protectant, 32 fl. oz.
