Hello All,
2019 Ram 1500 - 38,000 miles
Dash Cluster continues to wake up.
Each time I park and lock my car, the cluster takes about 50 seconds to shut off.
10 minutes later the dash cluster wakes up and shows the image "press brake and push start." This will stay on for about 15 seconds and then go off for 15 seconds - starting an endless cycle of the display turning on an off continuously.
I have done this with the key fob nowhere near the car.
Battery dies each night as it is drawing 3.5 amps when the dash cluster is awake and will only drop to about 2 amps before the cluster wakes up again.
Battery is brand new - tests perfect.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You reference battery as brand new, was it doing this prior to replacing the battery?

Seems there's a sensor tweakin' somewhere. If batteries are pulled from both/all fobs, does it still do this? Or a proximity sensor in the handle (not sure if Ram uses that tech)? System is seeing a door open when it's closed (faulty sensor)? Just throwing ideas out.

Is there any chance you have a fob with a battery stashed somewhere in the vehicle? Put the FOBs you have in a Faraday pouch. With no FOB in proximity the dash should not light up. If it does you are probably going to need advanced tech to fihure out what sensor or system is causing the problem.

My brain-damaged brother claims this solved his car battery from depleting over-night: (before he was born….I think Daddy simply pulled-out early)

Did you buy new or used? If used maybe a previous owner stashed a fob somewhere inside. Does the truck allow the door locks to be locked usually if a key fob is inside it will not allow the doors to lock to prevent you from locking keys inside the truck. I would have it scanned by dealer or a local shop for fobs to see how many fobs are programmed to the truck if more than what you have i would have all deleted and reprogram the ones you have that you use

Update to my Dash Cluster continuing to wake up. I took my truck to a Ram dealer just after Christmas. They had the truck for a week. Went through parasitic draw test. They identified the draw was on the same circuit as the BCM.They were convinced the BCM needed to be replaced and that would fix the problem. Part was on back order and took a month to receive. They replaced the BCM and it did not fix the problem. Where do I go with this now?

Sounds maybe like a software issue maybe they need to reflect the BCM. But just a guess.

Okay. The problem has been identified and fixed. I am posting this in hopes that it helps someone else with this same problem as certified Ram technicians were baffled. I found a thread on reddit (below) that described the same problem that I was having. This was my last shot in dealing with a problem that lasted months.

Once I unplugged my left taillight, the problem was solved. The truck went to sleep as normal drawing less than 0.10 amps in under 15 minutes. I ordered a replacement taillight for $100, put the blind spot detector from my old taillight into the new taillight and everything works fine now.

You're too late this time.

The OP was more than 2 months ago, and his post #14 was announcing that the problem was solved.

I have the exact same identical problem. If you Google "Parasitic draw on a 2019 Ram", it explains its the BCM or the Uconnect radio system. Apparently the satellite/radio gliches and never goes to sleep. The console wakes up alot at night for no reason. I thought it was upgrading, but that wasn't the case. Im going old school to fix my problem, i just ordered a kill switch to shut off power to the BCM and radio when not in use. I just turn the switch between uses. I might lose my radio settings and the clock, but I'd rather have a reliable working truck when i need it. I replaced the battery(new) 3 times since 2019..

Old school would be solving the problem, not using a band-aid to mask the issue.

We see mystery current draw issues here regularly; nothing new about them.

If you change your mind and want to make an effort to solve the issue, post again with any observations, and we can start working towards a solution.

If your problem is the same, it is very easy to check. Four screws removes the left taillight. Unplug it and check parasitic draw. For me, I didn't even need to see the parasitic draw. I just waited 10 minutes which was when my dash cluster would wake back up. After 10 minutes it did not. I confirmed with parasitic draw test, and all has been fine ever since with a new taillight. Ordered mine through amazon for $100 and took the blindspot sensor out of my old taillight and put it in the new taillight. It's been over three months without any issue.
