    [Solved:] 1999 P0171 - system lean code - 5.9L engine power loss - uphill ?

    -edit- tldr: Gas gage was lying - said it had a quarter of a tank when it was actually EMPTY so, truck was fine today until I started driving up this one hill, then power loss - engine wouldn't go over 1000 rpm and stalled. I had a scan tool with me and got the P0171 system lean bank 1 code...

    Fails to start in Park, but will start in Neutral - intermittent problem

    Its still pretty rare but occasionally my '99 5.9 engine won't even engage the starter while in Park - but shifting to Neutral & it will start no problem. is there some gizmo thats preventing starting in Park ?

    Bolt found loose in bell housing - auto trans.

    This little bolt fell and rattled its way to the bottom of the flywheel bell housing when I pulled an old bad starter off my '99 quadcab (automatic trans). Flywheel teeth looked ok on visual inspection, rotated through all of them. Anybody know where this bolt came from, and how hard is it to...

    Ball Joint replacement, DIY or shop job?

    My 99 quad cab is (over)due for getting its factory ball joints replaced - yep, the ones with no grease fittings. I know its technically possible to DIY this with some rented ball tools, but I'm wondering if this is the kind of job that a suspension shop could save a lot of aggravation.
