    Bouncing when towing travel trailer

My 1500 QC has #1890 payload. My trailer has 950# tongue weight. I was getting the bounce the first time I towed on concrete freeways. The bounce was worse with just the trailer and the bed empty, with the motorcycles in the bed the bounce was less. I turned the traction control button...

Looking to buy a TT, feeling a bit overwhelmed...

I have the Winnie 2401RG and tow with the v6 Ram no problem. Use the Blue OX WD hitch and after I got it dialed in it tows great, no sway. MPG is anywhere from 9.5 to 12.5 depending on the winds. I have had mine just over a year an no warranty issues at all. One word of caution is the...

Warranty not honored if sold in ?!!

I think there could be another reason for not honoring the warranty cross border and it has more to do with maximizing revenue. For example a Ram 1500 Tradesman is offered for 34095 on the Canada website and $31795 on the US website. In US dollars the Canada truck sells for $25571. The...

Which do you think is better for higher MPG

I seem to do a couple of MPG better if I accelerate quickly (not WOT). I only go slow when I am behind a Prius. Truck seems to use a lot more fuel pushing Prius along, must be the heavy batteries.

What determines payload and towing capacity? Comparing 1/2 tons.

The door tag on my Tradesman QC shows payload 1890#. Having the v6 gives you the highest payload. My tongue weight on my trailer is 945#. So when I load the scooters in the bed with the trailer and people I am overloaded on paper, but on the scales I am ok on each axle with the weight...

Gas mileage on the 3.6 V6

My 3.6 Tradesman has a GCWR of 12,800 lbs. Loaded up for camping I am weighing in at 12,550. V6 tows great as long as you are staying at 65 mph or less, it does have to work really hard if you try to maintain 70 mph or greater. I generally tow at 60 to 65 anyway, just not comfortable going...

3.6L Guys, Regular Gas or E85?

I run E85 most of the time, in my area it runs between .60 and .90 cents cheaper on average. Based on that price difference it generally saves me about 10 to 20 percent on fuel cost. The 3.6 does put out more HP on E85. One way I can tell is if I floor it off the light on E85 it is on the...

3.6L WITH 8 SPEED... TOWING SUCKS!!

I guess everybody has different expectations. When I started driving in the 70's, company trucks I was in rarely had a V8, mostly 6 cylinders with 1 barrel carbs. We have come a long way with our trucks. I am towing a 28FT travel trailer with the 3.6 3.55 gears and it exceeded my...

Why did you buy your truck?

This is my first Ram. Owned several Chevy and Ford trucks over the years. My favorite truck was the 1992 Ford F150 with the 4.9L, the ram just replaced it as my favorite. I was getting a new travel trailer this year and after making the trailer selection went truck shopping to find the right...

Is the oil change reminder smart?

Some good info. https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/understanding-ram-service-indicator-lights-by-brent-minderler My Ram 3.6 is averaging about 6800 miles until the indicator says 0% oil life. A lot of stop & go short trips, 60% E85 usage and about 25% towing miles at 6800 lbs.

I found a place that sells flex fuel.

It amazes me how much misinformation is repeated on E85. If you research it the current Blender tax credit is a maximum of .08 per gallon only if the retailer meets goals of 23% biofuels in 2018, percent of biofuels increasing in future years. I have been using E85 in my 2018 Ram 1500 for the...
