I have a 2014 ram 1500 4x4 with a 3.6l engine the reason the engine is a 6 cylinder cause my wife bought it for me on our wedding anniversary my question is I want to put a 6" lift with 35 or 37 inch tires will this engine be able to push the tires and rims or should I get a smaller lift lmk

If it were me, I'd never put 35's let alone 37's on that small engine. Just put a level on it and maybe go to a 34" tall tire that's the same as stock width. That way you don't add much weight

Hi Hayn,

Cograts on the anniversary and WOW momma bought you a truck!? You need to keep her!,

As for lifts I have been doing some research and what I have come up with, at least on the 13's is 2" level with .26 spacer for 35" 4 or 6" lift for 37". If you are going to go after market for rims get them with the offset compensated for the tire width.
As for the power thing I can't really answer that. Lots of folks say that the Hemi needs 3:92 to turn 37's but I really don't see that. I have 3:55 with a hemi and there isn't any reason that thing couldn't easily turn 37's. The 6 has the 8 speed and from what I have gathered that combo works very well. So I would venture to say that you could at the very least handle 35's without any problems.

Good luck and post some pics when done.

You can get tires as big as you want, just change the diff gears.

engine dosnt mean much if your not towing with it along with the big tires.

losts of jeeps and tacomas run MUCH smaller engines and 35s and 37s all day long. its all about the gear ratio that will decide on weather its gona want to roll or not.

I ran 37's on my 08 Jeep Unlimited. I did have 4.88 gears but it had the 5 speed with a crappy 1st gear. The 3.6 has more power and the 8 spd has a really low 1st gear. Plenty of newer JKU are running 37's on stock 3.73 gears with the 6 speed and say it's bearable. Curb weight of a fully outfitted JKU (bumpers, full size spare, winch, skid plates, etc) gets up around the 5200 - 5500 lb mark so they are comparable to the Ram. Expect it to be a sluggish of the line, but it should be bearable.

I think you'd be happier with a gear change, but not happy with the price. Probably looking at $2500 or more and you can only go up to 3.92. A year ago, the front axles I found for sale were about $800 - $1000. The rear gear change with install ran about $800.00. If you can do the front axle swap, then your looking at about $1800 - $2000.00. If not, then you get closer to or above the $2500.00 mark.

good luck and post pics of your build when you decide.
