I know a few that have a sub 5sec 0-60 that still use it as a DD, my RCSB is a mid 4 and is a DD just depends on what mods you do and how good your tuning is.

Are any of them 4x4? I just picked one up a couple weeks ago and am hoping to get it to sub 5. Could you post up their screen names so I can see what they have on their mod lists.

I've gotten a couple low 5 second 0-60s off my sc but don't really believe it.

I believe it, you have a RC with a cam, if I can rip off a 6 sec 60 then I have no problem believing yours can do a 5.x sec run.

I did another run with my truck since I put new exhaust on it. Sad to say some how it was almost a full 2sec slower. I was at 7.1 before the exhaust and I ran a 8.8 on the recent one. Both were done around the same conditions so I don't know what to think.

Anyone have any ideas? The only other thing that had been changed was tires but they are still the stock size. My old ones were kind of worn down but not 2sec 0-60 worth.

pipe size, muffler type, back pressure, cats, dual or single etc also play a big part too.

Playing with the SC measuring 0-60 is great fun. I've never measured a sub 5. I'm thinking lack of traction might be key. lol

Wow, Sub 5's with a 2 Door Truck, and Mid 4's, That makes me wonder what my 4.2K Lb RT Magnum can do as I can hit in and around 135/140 KPH shifting in and out of the so called 2-3 shift in D mode on a 6200 setting. Tire settings, Altittude all play a part and what Ryan said a perfect tune. I spent alot of dough to get what I beleive to be an honest 6.08 with a canned tune but could easily play with the SC settings or stick on a set of P245/75/17's to print off a 5.6 and say I was at the Beach.

Hop in and Take a ride is what I say. Greg I think you need to play with stickier or bigger tires Buddy.

Danny, when using a tuner to measure 0-60 speed it is all about spinning the tires. That's why IMO, there is such a gap from the heavier trucks to the lighter ones making a little power. The heavier one's are actually going 60mph. ;)
My last outting with Ken I used my DR's and heated them up pretty good with 18# of air but I couldn't get Red to stick. The whole truck was bouncing, I blame myself as I should of feathered it some. But was too hard headed being sure coming out on idle would be enough to hold it. Track prep wasn't what it could have been and this was my first time at Richmond. So that's my excuses and I'm sticking with them.....

Sounds like you tried, and i can understand the frustration especially when the truck outplays your theory. I suppose that good traction is the ticket and to be honest I got to a point where 0-60 in 2wd got worse after the gears and the 4hi launches I now save for when its warranted. Gonna give it a whirl after I change valve seals and add exhaust rods in the 6.1 length and get the Magnaflow Cat put on just to see how this Cam compares to the CS. I also need a proper Moes TB as my other keeps throwing the truck into limpe mode at the worst oportune times. Since I removed it 4-5 weeks ago trucks been good. Ok then back to the thread, ST-8, nice mods.

Yes, Another 03 Forgottens. Got your Message but would need you to explain the procedure SOP style so I can understand the steps of what you described. Replaced the Map last year and it solved some codes can't remember exactly which ones but they are gone However now that I think of it I never got Limpe when I ran it with the CS. Did get it from the dealer as it was 20 bucks cheaper than Napa, so maybe I can get their brand and try it one more time before I throw the TB in the Trash, but if 40-50 bucks can save me 400 I'd br willing to try it.

Sorry to Jack Guys but a Ported TB on these Ol trucks does cut some ....Point seconds off the time. But all the Mods are cumulative.

with a combo of Hoosier slicks and traction bars mine will hold tight. on the street the wide 305 tires plus the weight of the tonneau and the caltracs I can hit it harder and not spin out, however if I go more that half throttle on launch it spins, if I go more than 3/4 before second it chirps them as well. it's fun going through the motions to get your launch dialed in though.

Ryan by chance do you have a pic of the slicks on the truck? We set a set beside mine the other day while we were scratching our heads. 2WD im gonna need em, if I use my 4x4 then I can leave it in that but its not coming out after the lauch like it used to because im making more across the board.
