I'm new to this and hope I'm going about this right . I've had two 2nd gen , just got my first 3rd gen , I had new tires and wheels on my last 2nd gen , 16 inch , thought they would fit my 3rd gen but found out they hang up on caliper , was wondering if anyone would know if I used two inch wheel spacers if it would clear the caliper ?

I understand that , but my question was with 2 inch wheel spacer would that give enough space to clear the caliper

Most likely not, since part of the reason they used a minimum of 17's wasn't so much sideways caliper clearance but diameter. Only one way to find out lol!
