Today i had the shift cable pop off the tranny. It looks like the ball the cable snaps onto is rusted and worn.
Would someone have a part # for the shift arm with ball for a replacement.
I got under the truck and got a fast glimpse and did not see how to replace this so if anyone has any pictures or youtube vids much appreciated.

Glad this did not happen in the winter which is around the corner here in Boston.

thanks

thanks for the parts book I had a copy and don loaded yours. Still I cant seem to find the part in the diagrams showing what I need. Its connected to the shift lever on the tranny so that the shift cable snaps onto the ball. Maybe someone else can find in the diagrams pictured.

It may not be available as a separate piece, normally thats part of the cable assembly.

Not true the cable is 1 part and the ball and plate that connects to the tranny shift lever is another part. I got it fixed new cable and ball plate that connects to tranny lever.

Ball and plate assemble 1 part was located in New Hampshire Cable was got at Kelly Jeep Chrysler here in Boston where I live had to wait until ball plate arrived so it was fixed yesterday

That ball plate where i live in snow/salt is during winter just started to rot away. The ball was wearing away so i Had both put in to make sure. Its a poor design.Should have some type of snap clip or a shaft instead of the ball with a cotter pin or clip so it would not fall off. Its hard to get at as the 4x4 shaft is right there. the cable is only a press fit onto the ball bad design I feel.
