Howdy folks, just wondering what spare tire rim type Dodge put underneath the truck from the factory. Were they steel or aluminum?

I recently had my spare stolen and bought a used steel rim spare. I don't have the factory jack handle so trying to crank this thing up with a super long socket extension was incredibly tough.

So, steel or aluminum?

I have only seen steel rims used as spares.

That's what I figured. That thing was a beast to hoist up below the bed.

Guess I need to invest in a factory jack handle.

Anyone know where I can get an inexpensive one? Something less than $40 or so?

Check with your local salvage yard, as may totaled trucks still have the original jack and crank secured under the seat.

My spare also has a steel rim, probably weighs 90lbs all together. Holds down the corner in my garage pretty well.

I've called all the salvage yards in San Antonio and ALL them say they don't have any or that they're removed prior to coming to the yard. I found that strange but consistent.

No luck on our local Craigslist either.

Just don't want to kick out close to $100 for something that just sits under my passenger seat.
