So I’ve read that it easy to swap out door panels and seat to my 2009 ram with the new 4th gen but has any one gotten the 8.4 in a older ram

Unfortunately the radio will not work in your truck for many reasons but mostly because they communicate through a completely different system. Even if you could figure out how to power up the radio non of the features would work because the radio can't communicate with your BCM.
