'09 Xfer case issues

The other day I was driving down some back roads and came across a mud hole in the middle of the road. I kept it in 2 wheel drive, put my foot into it a little to throw up some mud, and heard some kind of weird noise from somewhere in the front end. I felt a vibration in the gas pedal, and the "4x4" light was flickering. I don't have the auto 4x4 transfer case.

I've read that there have been some issues with the Xfer case in my year model truck ('09), is that what I'm experiencing here?

Well you have the NV243 transfer case which I don't know too much about but I can tell you my dad has that on and had to get a new half shaft. My dad's would flicker but seemed to still work when he took it in the main problem was some kind of leak so they fixed it. I have the NV246 that has the auto 4wd and have not had issues I am at around 62k.
