Just purchased a 2019 Ram Rebel with 12" Uconnect. First 300 miles on it no issues. I was on a call with Uconnect to set up services and they stopped being able to hear me. After a few calls back, the sound became very static like and crackling. I tried radio and same thing. I can hear the music but it almost sounds like every speaker is busted. Did this for radio, spotify, phone calls, ect. The next morning, everything was working fine again... anyone else have this issue?

Day 4 of ownership(dealership I purchased from was 300 miles away so that's why I have so many miles in less than a week). Issue has not returned. Everything seems to be working fine. Lets cross our fingers that the Rebel just has jokes and was trying to get me worked up first day of ownership haha.

I have the same issue with the mic going mute and not allowing folks to hear me. As soon as I switch from Bluetooth to speakerphone and back to Bluetooth it works.

My guess is it has to do with the noise canceling system in the trucks. Appears to be a bug in the software. Anyone know where we can message Ram about this topic?

I get a split second static sound, music stops for the same amount of time then all is great. It's not like it's losing the signal under a bridge. Today I came out of the store and remote start got in and went to change the channel and all my radio presets were gone. On off a couple times no change. I just checked my battery connections and 3 of the 4 or 5 weren't exactly tight as I liked. We will see if that makes a difference. I already know that if there isn't a TSB on this exact problem going to the dealership will get me the "we couldn't replicate the issue" answer.
The only real reason I paid 2k for the Mopar ext warranty was for that damn 12 inch screen that I love.

Just started having the same issue in my Laramie. Calls, satellite radio, Bluetooth, USB, and navigation sounds are completely full of static. Has anyone found a fix yet?

I have had my 2019 Ram 3500 Laramie at the dealer 2 times. My complaint has been that when I have my cellphone connected through the UConnect, it will mute the mic where I can't be heard on the other end. I can disconnect the call and callback and everything works fine. It seems to be an intermittant problem. The dealer states that they can't recreate the problem so they can't fix it. I ordered and received the truck in August and the problem started in October. I am still having the problem and I am getting ready to take the truck back to the dealer for the same problem. Can someone at Ram tell us if they are working on a fix for this issue? I am a long time Dodge/Ram owner but, I have a issue with paying $80k for a truck and being told that there is no fix for it. I am not getting any answers from my dealer.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. I've looked into this for you and I've found some trouble shooting steps.

1. Reboot the phone.
2. Make sure that your Bluetooth is connected. Play some music and make sure that the volume on the phone is all the way up. This is just to verify the Bluetooth connection.
3. Make sure for the moment that your phone mute switch is NOT in the mute (orange marking) position.
4. On your iPhone -Go to Settings/Sound and Haptics
5. Turn OFF the slider switch labeled "Change with buttons, but above that move the volume slider all the way to the right.
6. While connected to your Uconnect, place an incoming call to your phone from a different phone.
7. While the phone is ringing, turn the radio volume control on the dash all the way up. You should hear the phone ringing.
Hang up - turn your mute on the phone back on if you normally do that, and test again. It should work now

Please let me know if this resolves your concern. If not, I would be happy to open a case for you.

Thanks Allison,

I appreciate the response. I don't have an IPhone, I'm using a android Google Pixel 4x. I have tried different settings on my phone and I am still having intermittent issues with the UConnect muting my calls without warning. I can disconnect my phone from UConnect and the phone works fine, or I can disconnect the call and callback and the phone/UConnect will work fine... sometimes... Getting ready to take it in to dealer again next week. Any further help would be appreciated.

I would recommend having your dealer check for software updates for your vehicle. Please let me know if you need another level of assistance during your appointment. I would be happy to open a case for you.

Newbie here.... Experiencing the static filled audio issue today. This is day 3 of owning the vehicle (Certified 2019 Limited w/ 12” and standard Alpine audio system - not the HK system) and upon connecting iphone to play music today, the audio is just filled with static. I did not have this problem when I brought the vehicle home on Thursday (However, upon arriving to pick up the vehicle at the dealer on Thursday, the screen would not display anything. So, they took it into the shop and tech said that it was stuck in a "boot loop", he rebooted the system and it worked fine - I had the dealer note this in the vehicle records as an issue before I would leave with the vehicle). Tried disconnecting and reconnecting my phone and still had the static in the line. Also, disconnected my phone and tried connecting my wife's phone and still experienced the static in the audio. Ditto on a 3rd attempt with using my daughters phone. Tried using the radio and both the FM and AM bands have static coming through as well. Also tried to identify if it was just a certain speaker by adjusting the sound field and fader - and again, didnt matter which speaker I concentrated the sound too, the static was still there.***UPDATE***-about an hour after posting this, I went out to try to diagnose again and the problem is gone now - no sign of any static through any of the channels...Weird!

So, ttam1985, all the 12” systems are supplied by HK, even the ones that use the Alpine speakers?

I too have the 8.4 Alpine system with no issues...know plenty of coworkers and others who have had nothing but problems with the 12” systems. Hope they get the bugs worked out for all who have them...

I have a 2019 Ram 2500 with the 8.4" Alpine with less than 9k miles. I experienced a similar problem as RTroy above and it seems both occurred on the same day (afternoon of Sunday May 10). I had my iPhone 8 plugged into the USB and was paired as the primary phone while my wife's iPhone 8+ was also plugged into the other port. We were listening to the Sirrus XM radio and trying to adjust the screen brightness in the Settings screen when severe static sound suddenly came through all speakers. The same for AM, FM, CD player and any phone calls or music from my iPhone. We stopped at a rest stop, turned off the engine for 5 minutes, restarted the truck and had the same static problem. I turned the radio off and every 30 minutes or so I tried turning the radio back on and the problem was still present. It's as if an audio cable came loose between the sound system and the speakers/amplifier.
Monday I scheduled an appointment at my local dealership and will bring it in this Friday.
Today I started the truck up and magically the problem went away. The only thing I can think of that is different than normal usage is that we were using both USB ports for each phone or maybe because we had been using the CD player earlier that day (possible heat generation). I will be relaying this info to the dealership this Friday.

As expected, dealership can not troubleshoot without having the problem present. They did mention that if the problem resurfaces I don't have to make an appointment, I just need to call on my way in.
