Not to be an ass but why are you putting car tires on a truck?

It is the OEM spec tire, so is your question for Ram or the OP?
I run metric 115 load range now. LT E felt like it was too hard a carcass for the fire roads i run. Just felt very harsh, they were also grabber X3 which are a very heavy tire.

To meet the OEM GVWR (based on stock psi vs load index tables), inflation would need to be as follows:
P265/70/17 113 (stock p-metric) =40psi
265/70/17 115 (metric) = 34psi
LT265/70/17C 112 (LT metric) = 47psi
LT265/70/17E 121 (LT metric) = 47psi

All that said, OP, you should really consider an LT tire for your use.

I get 100k(60k mi) out of my factory 20" Goodyears and I run them all year round on my Sport, and I live in snowy Alberta. I've had 3 Rams in the last 13 years with 20" Goodyears and I was getting the same mileage on all three trucks. Don't know what to tell ya....And yes maybe an LT tire is what is needed for your application/purpose.

How the hell do you survive an Alberta winter on the OEM tires? I didn’t even get through summer in Ontario before I sold them for $300 with only 4000km on them. They were so bad at everything.

I’m surprised you’ve not got other issues using a half ton to do 3/4 and 1 ton work.

The tires are saving your frame and axles by taking the brunt of the weight you’re putting on it.

If you upgrade to LT or load range E tires I expect you’ll shift the load from the tires to the frame and axles.

I did not like the Goodyear Wranglers that were on the truck. They wore ok, but I do not tow or haul either. The truck seemed squrrelly in the rear though.

Ordered these from walmart.com last Dec. Mounted, lifetime balance, and road hazard for $575. They also look decent on the stock rims I think.
