Ok, time for a tire and wheel upgrade but having a hard time deciding on getting 18 or 20" wheels. What do you think looks better, more wheel than tire or more tire than wheel??
I currently have a 2 1/2" leveling kit and will be installing 1 1/2" body lift. What size tire and wheel should I go with so it dont look like a stuffed sausage and what offset and or backspace ( like the tires to stick out slightly) Thanks for any and all opinions, pics would be greatly appreciated as well!! :)

You can get 20's and 35's under your truck so you can have big, bad ass wheels with lots of sidewall if you want.

Offset with 35's would be +12, 0, -18 or -24 depending on how much tire you want sticking out.

If its a 4x4 I prefer 17- 18". I have a 35-12.50-20s and regret not doing my usual ,sell the 20s and buy 17" . 35s on a 20 don't have a sidewall tall enough to look like a big tire not to mention lack of sidewall flex if it ever goes offload . Even a 37 don't look like a 37 on a 20" wheel .

I had 35” tires and 18” wheels with a 6” lift. My next truck I’ll go 20” wheels no doubt. I don’t off road though.

I have 20,s with 37" tires... The larger rims gives it a deceivingly smaller look until you are standing next to the truck. I think the 18's would give your truck a bigger look... JMHO.

If I can figure out how to add pics from my phone I'll show you my rims and tires.

Personally I prefer smaller wheels and more tire jmo .

If you 4x4 often then definitely a smaller wheel , if you plan on a lift kit in the future ...some kits say their steering arm require a minimum of an 18" wheel , so something to consider there .
Also on a 17-18" wheel mud and SNOW are much more likely to NOT get packed in a wheels spokes causing severe out of balance once at speed ....

As for the offset , your factory wheels are a +19mm , so a ( 0 ) offset moves the tire and wheel outwards 19 millimeters approx 3/4" and then you have the negative offsets of -12 , -18 , -24 and so on ..the more -neg offset the more tire & wheel sticking out .

With your level and a 1.5" body lift imo a 17" wheel with a zero or -12mm wrapped in a 35in tire would look great !
If you go -12 mm or more you'll likely want fender flares ...an added expense but looks really good [emoji106]

Hope this helps !

It's a shame... The pictures really don't do it justice ;)

Good luck with which ever route you choose. Be sure and post some before and afters!
Super beautiful truck! I will be sure to take before and after pics! Thanks for sharing the pics and for your comments as well!
I hope I am making the right decision on the 33's though, I dont like the full wheel well look, I like lots of distance between the wheel well and the tires. Yours has the right balance because you have a big lift therefore you can run big rubber and it looks perfect. I have a small lift so I have to be careful not to stuff the wheel wells.....decisions, lol!!

Thanks for this valuable info, will probably go with 0 to -12mm offset as I want the tires to stick out a bit but not too much :)

I agree; smaller wheel and more tire. Most 20s make 35s look small. IMO you buy 35s to have the big tire look. So why get a wheel that counter acts that?

These are 18s.

I think 35"s and up on 20" look good but I am going with 33 1/2" on 18's so I think that might be way to high of wheel to tire ratio also. 35" on 20's would have 7 1/2" of rubber on top of the wheel and same on the bottom. 33" on 18's would have exactly the same.

There is definitely a fine line, I do like 20" wheels but the rubber going on them has to be big enough to make it look right. Off road trucks with small tires and big wheels just dont look right to me. I see lots of "street trucks" with monster 24-26" wheels with low profile tires, that just aint my thing, lol!

Also don't forget most 35s are not 35 inches tall when on a truck unless they are rock hard and ride like rocks and most still are less than 35". Some are closer to 33s even though the sidewall says 35-12.50-20 on it . Same with 33s , they may be less also not to mention most of us had 33" tall tires on the truck from factory and they sure as hell don't look like a tire that belongs on a 4x4.
