'19, is it a Smart Alternator?

Does the '19 and I suppose the '20 as well, do they have a Smart Alternator varying the output?

What's this part for? It's attached to the negative post on the battery.

Chrysler has used alternators controlled by the PCM for a long time. My 16 year old Jeep has one.

That’s a current shunt in the picture. Used to measure how many amps are flowing in or out of the battery.
