I am starting a rebuild of a 1950 Dodge pickup and I am looking for advice on what engine to put in it. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone know what engines fit without to many alterations? Thanks in advance.

Start up a build thread. Post pics of the truck and your plans. There will be a ton of members that will love to watch this build and also will help you out with ideas.

Years ago I built a 49 Dodge B1B (1/2 ton) Panel Truck. I used a Fatman Fabrications Mustang II based frontend kit and installed a 1970 340 cu in with an A518 RH overdrive transmission. Everything fit nicely. Used an 8 3/4" rear as well.

Have you considered using a Dodge Dakota chassis under it. You would have all the modern underpinnings, modern power, steering and stopping power. A lot of folks have put S-10 chassis under old pickups and the Dakota's are probably about the same size.
