20"-17" --- Need Help

I have a blacked out express crew cab, 4wd, factory tires are garbage off-road so I need to re-tire. I was thinking of dropping down to a 17" wheel. I may be able to get a set if Rubicon takeoffs anyone ever ran a wheel adapter to switch bolt patterns from truck to wheel? I will probably just level right now, if an adapter doesn't work what 17" wheel specs do I need? I will probably run a 33-34" tire.
