I just bought a 2001 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2L V8 4x4 ext cab 4 door. It has a loss of power. How ever it will go as fast as you want it but just takes forever to get there. The power that it has now i pry wouldn't be able to tow a tralier with a lawn mower on it. Run and drives fine. Start right up, just no power. Any ideas of how to get the power back? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

More info is needed. Is the truck lifted? Bigger tires than stock? When was the last time it had a tune up? Have you read the sticky thread about the plenum gasket? Comp test done? These where not big hp motors from the get go 245 at the flywheel and it's now 13 years old.

What Merc said.
Right off the bat though I'd say plenum, bigger tires, exhaust leak or death flash.

Doubt it's death flash if he's just now noticing it (though unless he's tuned he has it) but i age with plenum and tune up stuff
