Hey everyone I'm completely new to the page and somewhat new to dodge.
Quick run down. I purchased a 02 1500 4x4 from a buddy who gave up on the truck for 1500.00. I had thought it jumped time, distributor was pointing at cyl 8 at Tdc. Pulled front cover and timing marks spot on. Went a tad further and found cylinder 1 piston busted. Still can't figure how it managed to go 180 out if chain was good.
Looking to replace the motor and a buddy has a 97 model 5.9 with 50xxx. Miles, but everyone says the motor will not work. Any thought? If not whats the difference in a 02-03 5.9 to the 2001 and older.
