I have found a couple discussions about a front clip conversion starting with a 2003 Ram, and installing a 2006 front clip on it. But not to a 2009 or 2013. Would either of these be as easy?

The body lines on the gen4 trucks are so different it wouldn't even look right.

I saw a picture of a silver 3rd gen that had a 4th gen front clip, but it tool ALOT of work to make it look right. Thousands of dollars in parts and labor.

The 2006 3rd gen swap to 02-05 has been done and fits like a glove, fenders fwd swap and have seen the results in person But personnally I prefer the Latter and don't see the point. Now a Sport Conversion I like. 4th Gen forget it. Want something different make yourself a Dodge Chargum...LOL. Nothing is impossible...

Yea like everybody is saying, they don't match up. 03-05 trucks used the same cab, doors, hood, etc. as the 06-08 trucks (all the way up through 09 for the 2500/3500). After that, the front clip, cab, and bed all changed completely, so none of the body panels would line up at all.

Thank you guys for that. And very quick. I tried that question on four other forums with no actual answers.
From an 03 to an 06, does it only take fenders, bumper cover, grille, and headlights?

I believe that's correct. You can actually use an 03 or 06 grill though. They both fit from what I recall.

The shape of the top bumper pad and the contour of the bumper pad to the headlights is why it is best to have the matching grille. To go from an 03 to 06, you will need front fenders, headlights, upper bumper pad, and grille. Most of the body parts are easy to find on craigslist. I would hit up the Retro Shop for some headlights.

The conversion pics that Matt put up actually look pretty decent. I'm putting these pics up just to show how difficult this would be to get right. Other than the poor conversion, I think the truck looks terrible with all the crap that was put on it. This truck was actually one of the cover trucks on the April 2011 issue of Truckin'.
