2004 1500 4.7L idle surge

Hi all, I purchased an 04 4.7L with 143000 miles, it has developed a random idle surge with occasional stall. There is no rhyme or reason. Some days, I have to feather the throttle, other days, it's fine. I've replaced the Idle Air Control and cleaned that port, what else should I be looking at?

Any codes? Does it happen when the engine is cold, hot, or both? When you say "idle surge" are you saying the idle goes up? Because later you indicate "with occasional stall".

I had a similar issue with my truck. Replacing the throttle position sensor fixed it.

No codes, No CEL. It surges at all temps. It will hang around 700, go up to 1200 then down to ~400. Most of the time , the idle will recover and not stall, but if it happens to surge downward while I'm hitting the brake or turning, expect a stall.
