Hey guys... I have an issue, kinda weird, I think... the issue is my son's truck slipped real bad in first gear this afternoon. He put it in park, shut it down for a minute, fired it back up, no slipping. The thing is, when he started it back up, the check engine light came on. There is no shuttering or chatter, and never has been. We checked the fluid level the other day, cold but running, looked good on the stick. Trans has never had the pan off. The only thing the truck has ever pulled is his bass boat. Here are the particulars on the truck. I hope someone has an idea...

I'm not up to speed on post-2000 transmissions but on the older models they have a vacuum diaphragm and if ruptured can cause intermittent slipping.

Just personal experience, not expert advice

If you've never had the pan off .....it's time. Lol
You have 2 filters that need replacing.
Use only ATF 4.

Have you pulled the codes

My first question as well. If there are any, there should be at least two, p0700 (general trans fault) and then something more specific.
