Hi,
I am asking this for my friend, he have a 2006 Ram 2500 diesel 4x4 and on last trip with him we park in sandy area and he get stuck pulling his 5th wheel trailer. He shifted to low 4x4 , but when he push on gas pedal RPM won't go over 2000 and wheels don't move at all . He tried high 4x4 , but was the same no wheel move and still RPM under 2000 . I manage to pull him out , but he really like to fix that problem before next trip. I don't understand if 4x4 don't engage, what is a keeping RPM down, if is not load on the engine. Any idea why this is happening will be appreciated .
