So I have 2014 eco deisel having issues keeping it running after new tone wheel and fuel pump (both hi and lift). So the truck will start but diesel after 20-30 second. No code for the ram tech . has ran many test and compression and fuel quailty and fuel presures. He opened a star case with ram. I even had him try a new battery. Any body got any ideas.

Why were those parts replaced? Was it running okay before replacement?

No it was not running it was doing what it is doing when I took it in. They replaced those parts because the were under warranty from just doing the recalls.

@Weberj1010 I believe the CP4 has to be timed correctly when replaced. Also there is a fuel pressure regulator that on the HPFP. That should have been replaced with the pump but it would be worth checking for any debris that could be plugging it up.
The MAP sensor, those can get plugged up along with EGR pick up and cooler.

So for an update on this still not staying running but the dealership said the have a code for a water fuel separate the only way to get rid of the code is a new one but they a they are back order so I got the one off ebay they were not happy but said they would use it just to get this figured out. Will update when I hear back.

This code was never a problem before and was not shown when it was taken in.

I highly doubt a water separator code would cause the truck to stall out. There's a fuel heater in the assembly but that would cause gelled fuel and typically a start up issue. Also this wouldn't be a problem unless the ambient temps are around/below 15F. This might be slightly higher if your state mandates higher Bio concentrations but those are usually reduced for the winter months along with anti-gel agents are added. Most diesel sold in northern states start being treated with anti-gel by about October and runs through at least March. Fuel gelling issue are not common unless the weather is into the negative temperatures consistently.

Good luck with the eBay part…. Most likely a China counterfeit.

It's also been in the shop stall for a month so I figured they broke a wire some where while trying to figure it out I know they changed the lift pump so I bet that's when it was broken or not plugged in correctly
