My son is looking at buying a 2007 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi in it. It has an aftermarket dual exhaust that according to the seller is causing the starter to overheat, so that after driving it and then shutting off the engine you have to wait for the starter to cool off before you can start it again. I have read that replacing the starter with a high torque mini starter may fix the problem, but I can not seem to find such a starter for sale that says it fits this engine. Does anyone have experience with or have a model of starter that they would recommend?
