Changed out my grid heater worried about that nut coming off the grid heater and destroying my engine and put on a banks without the grid heater. The only thing I got was more air flow.
There is no way the stock grid heater could loose anything that could fall in the intake.

My understanding is that warning applies to newer Rams. But thanks for the reassurance. Smokey

The grid heaters on the 2007 engines never had problems, it was only the newer engines and then the problem was caused by the relay, but then Banks sure did make a ton of cash getting unaffected people change out their grid heater that had no problems...

do u need the grid heater? mines been out for over a year on my 5.9 in my 2006 ram 3500. I've wondered about removing it and replacing with the hollow block they sell. Will this affect starting in cold weather?

The grid bolt thing didn't begin until 2013(?). PT Barnum Banks has separated a lot of people from their money for nothing.
