Man, I hope it all works out for you. Going to go and wiggle my bolt connection now. A reman engine?

My truck got a reman trans last year at 12k miles. It failed a year later, due to some part that was installed wrong during the reman process. I jokingly say its a great truck just needs the trans replaced every year!

Well...you never have to worry about changing the fluid....

Ouch. That sucks. Seems like all these companies are looking for a short cut.

The tech said the engine would have zero miles on it. Whatever that means. The total price with labor is $40k. Luckily the warranty will cover everything.

Great news, Engine has been ordered. Arrival date is TBD, however the repair has been approved. It took 6 weeks to get to this point with a good amount of communication back and forth. RAM asked my dealer to do a crazy amount of investigation work before approval. This is what took so long. Anyway, I’ll keep updating this thread until the truck is fixed.

It has been a crazy ride. Lots of waiting and watching as my dealer went back and forth with RAM/Dodge/Jeep corp. Finally after almost 6 months, the day has arrived and my new Cummins 6.7 is here. It will be installed this week. What a nightmare. But, it's finally almost over! IMG_3402.jpeg

In today's world of fast jet airplanes and rapidly dispatched delivery trucks from so many delivery sources, I view a statement alluding to them not having a clue as to an approximate timeline for delivery to be inexcusable.
In the times I've pushed back hard enough, suddenly, a time line IS tendered. Further questioning on my part reveals that most folks in the pipeline are lazy. A minute or 2 of them doing diligence pays off.

But, I realize the trite human nature of maintaining control over others for mere ego still exists.
Go figure!

I have a Banks Ram-air upgrade sitting at my mechanic’s shop awaiting my truck with its new engine. I figure I’ll put a couple thousand miles on it, just to make sure the install was OK, and then take it over there and have the grid heater deleted.

I hope they will EXTEND your WARRNATY to include the SIX MONTHS you’ve been without the use of your truck while they play with paperwork.

Are they offering any compensation for the time you have been without your truck? I don't know about "Lemon" laws in Washington but this sounds like a "Real" case..

I checked on the lemon law scenario. The truck is too old. Good idea though.

When I was growing up, my neighbors Dad was an Attorney, and had a home office as well as his working office down at the firm.
On his home office desk, he had a novelty statue of an old fashioned lawyer with the powdered wig , a robe, and a law book under his arm.
The inscription on the bottom read "Sue The Bass Tards".

The best attorney-comment I’ve ever experienced is:

“In a Small Town, a lawyer will go broke.

(but TWO lawyers will have a pretty-good business!”)
