5.7 oil pressure issue

I have a oil pressure problem. Just the other day I changed my oil and shortly afterwards my check engine light came on. I noticed my oil pressure gauge needle goes up when the truck is moving and then goes down when I'm stopped. The engine temp is running normal. It idles normal as well. Can any one tell me what the problem could be. I have a 2008 SLT 5.7 Hemi. Thanks in advance.

I would start by checking the oil level and also check and see if it threw any codes. When you changed the oil did you put in 7 Qts of 5W20? If the oil level is fine then I would try changing the oil sending unit, they've been known to go bad. You could also put on a mechanical pressure gauge to see what the pressure is actually reading before replacing the sending unit. Welcome to RF.

Yes, I put in 7qts of 5w30. The oil level is good. i will have to look into getting a mechanical pressure gauge. And thanks for the welcome to RF.
