Hi everyone. I've come to a standstill in my journey to hook up an iPod to my stock RER stereo. I've finally been able to track down the iPod integration cord and a few old ipods with no success. I've updated, restored, reset everything and still nothing.
facts:
2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport
RER Stereo updated to 2.404 via CD
16 pin to 30pin connector brand new cord
iOS 6.1.6
4th Gen Ipod Touch x 2
1st Gen Ipod Nano
all 3 iPods will connect to the cord and display communication with the RER. However nothing on the RER display says anything about iPod. I've updated, restored, reset the head unit. Turned if off and on with the ipods both unplugged and plugged. Nothing seems to establish connection from the truck stereo side of things.
Surely theres a combination of versions that are compatible with each other and I can downgrade software versions to make this happen?
I cant be the only person to be fighting with the 2010 'state of the art' technology that was way ahead of its time, and no impossible to use. Pics for reference.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on the situation.
(P.S I know I can use an aux cord or just upload songs to HDD, but I would like to maintain my steering wheel controls as well as the 15yrs of ipod playlists I've created over the years, making the iPod function very desirable for me)
