Some info about my truck currently. I have 2 10" Hertz and a matching Hertz amp and sound great. Just installed a Linkswell Gen IV 10" display as my head unit. For in cabin speakers in the rear doors I've got 2 Infinity 6x9's, in the front they're 6.5's in a custom plate and on top of my dash I have small (maybe 4"?) same size as the factory tweeters. I've disconnected the centre channel. This all sounds pretty decent however I know I can get more out of it. There are so many different settings and adjustable points, cutoffs, gain and frequencies I know there's more I can do. I haven't spent much time dialling sound or adjusting very minimally.
My question is on this wavtech bassRESTOR. I bought it last year as part of a used stereo from another Ram I found on FB Marketplace. I only used his subs, the box and the amp initially. I've since now upgraded to much better 2 x 10" Hertz subs.
Here's what I'm thinking. If I cut the low end out of my tweeters, would this bassRESTOR be then used to reintroduce the low frequencies to the rear door 6x9's and front door 6.5's?
I'm guessing that's what this device is for? I haven't looked much into it. Seems like it's a step before going DSP route with the cabin amp running individual channels each with their own frequencies. I’m thinking this device would allow my head unit to be eq'ed a specific way for the hi range tweeters/upper speakers, and then use this to turn restore and add those cut frequencies back into the cabin speakers? Is this correct?
I've read up about DSP amps and after this install, I am not rushing to spend more than I have to. Is what I described above how I'm to use this bassRESTOR box?
Any insight, suggestions or expertise is welcome. Thanks for reading.
