2011 Ram 1500 4x4 Tire fitment 20x9 stock rim

Hey y’all looking into getting new tires for my 2011 Ram 1500 4x4 Longhorn Edition on the 20x9 chrome rims. Trying to figure out the largest tire that will fit on the stock 20x9 rim I’m thinking 285/65r20s as of now but having a hard time finding slot of information on fitment for them (also would be intrested in a larger tire but wanting to stay on the stock rims). I have the Bilstien 5100s all around with them on the tallest setting in the front and the Dayton CargomaxxHD springs in the rear to level it out. Works out to be about an 3 inch lift so not worried about them fitting height wise more worried about rubbing badly and them fitting on the rims. Thanks

35x12.5’s. Might need a small spacer though to keep them away from the knuckle.

Similar Bilstein setup on my 2010 at 2.8. Stock Extra HD springs on the back.

When I replaced the 285s i was running i stepped up to 315s. The new wheels 17x9s with 4.66" backspacing. Not sure what the backspace is on the stock 20s.


They don't rub and tuck in under the stock flares well. As said some.can run 35 12.50s with no problem 315s are just a hair shorter at 34.4.

Your stock 20s have a +19 offset. Which roughly translates into .75 inch towards the center of the truck.

If you put 315s or 35s on the stock wheels look at the tire manufacturer web side to understand the width of the tire. Not all 35s are 12.5 wide, some are 12.4 some are 12.7. It matters as the wider tire will hit the upper control arm.

If it was me, 285 65 20 are 34.6 inches tall and 11.2 inches wide which will clear your upper control arm and still give a 35 look.

I’m currently running 35x11.50R20 Toyo ATIII tires on stock Laramie wheels 20x9. Up front, I have the suspension set to 2.4", and in the rear, I’m using ICON 1.5" springs — though they may have settled a bit lower over time.

Thanks for posting these. I have virtually the same truck (17 Laramie) with the same wheels and similar suspension set-up. I currently have 275/65/20, but I was considering going to 35x12.5. Judging by your pics, it doesn't look like the 12.5s would clear without a spacer of some sort. I'll probably end up with your size or 285/75/20 which looks like its has siimilar specs to the 11.5s.

The 11.50s are really nice — I had considered going with the 12.50s, but I didn’t want to deal with potential issues like trimming, wheel upgrades, or adjusting the 6112s up a notch. I still got a bit of height out of it though, so I’m happy with the setup.


Funny enough, I’m actually getting new wheels put on this week — picked up a set of Fuel Slayers in gray, 20x9 with a +1 offset. They should look pretty sweet with the current setup.


If I ever decide to go with a 4" to 6" lift down the road, I’ll probably switch to 12.50s since I’d be upgrading everything else anyway.
