I have a 2011 1500 Crew Cab with the driver's side door lock malfunctioning. Will replacing the actuator/latch mechanism fix it?
Symptoms:
1) pressing the driver's door controls lock/unlock does nothing, no sound or anything.
2) pressing the key fob will lock the door, but not unlock the door and there is a rapid machine gun sound like the lock is activating many times and it seems to try to move up and down but only slightly light it is stuck.
3) when driving the door lock activates randomly with the rapid fire sound like it is trying to auto lock, but can't?
4) I can pull up the lock manually to unlock the door most times, but twice now the lock was stuck locked and I had to mash the key fob buttons several times to be able to manually free the lock again.
