So I just heard about AlfaOBD from another forum, and came over here. I'm seeing an abundance of data for the app, but it sounds like its mostly compatible with 2013+.

I already have the OBDlinkMX that I bought a couple of years ago, so I'm already ahead of the game there. I added a brake controller to my 2012 Ram 1500 in March, and it does seem to function, I just don't have any info on my EVIC for it. Since it works, I can't bring myself to pay a dealership to have it added. When I heard about AlfaOBD, it sounded like the answer, but now I'm not so sure, since my truck is a 2012.

Can anyone confirm if this app will let me add the brake controller option to my 2012?

Only other option I am interested in would be adding remote start. I realize that means new fobs, and a pin from a dealer, or another app, but just curious if it is even possible before I buy a $50 phone app.

I plugged into my truck earlier with the DEMO version, just to make sure they will talk. I looked through where the trailer brake controller should be listed, and these are the two closest options I could find. Would one of these be it?

Actually, it works from 2005 MY on up, just not everything on every year. I've used it on both my 2010 1500 and my sons 2012 2500 successfully for various things. I'm mot sure if either of those settings are what you need though, both our trucks already have them. I'm pretty sure someone else on here enabled it, but I think it was referred to as ITBM. In the first post of the ALfaOBD thread is a link to known working settings, suggest browsing thru those, it may point you in the right direction. Hope it helps

Just looked through all the options, a little more slowly this time, and saw ITBM. I'm pretty sure that is it. Going to buy the app and play this weekend. I've seen a few other things I would like to play with also.

Thanks for the help.

Hy, I'm interested too. After cheking on the website, It seems that the latest version of the alfaOBD is compatible with the 2012.
