2013 5.7 coolant amount

How much coolant does my 5.7 require? The auto parts placed said it took 16 qt but I was only able to put in 8 qt.

Why are you refilling? Assuming you drained the system for whatever reason, you probably pulled the rad petcock and maybe the passenger side block drain? If so that only drains about half of the coolant so that would be the reason.

you beat me to it. So much remains in the motor when doing a drain and fill without a full flush.
