Also guys, if you have an exhaust leak it can suck air (oxygen) in and ignite any gases not yet burned due to the heat of the exhaust. This is VERY VERY rare with a catalytic converter though.

It's never thrown a code, I've checked every time. I had the rev set at 5k and the shift points at 5850 1-2 and 5800 2-3 and it would do it about every time 1-2. I dropped my shift back down to 5400 1-2-3 and 4k. Now it doesn't do it at all... But I've also just installed the A022 from BD. I dropped my rev while reinstalling the BD so i don't know if it was the rev limits or the BD?
Is everyone else that's having this issue got a BD?

I dont have a BD. Only thing on my truck is level, wheels, and rubber, and of course the magnaflow with resignators removed.

No codes is good.

Academically you probably already know this -

A backfire is air / fuel ratios incorrect. You got raw fuel leaving the head and igniting outside the combustion chamber. Or up front in the intake.

or

Too much timing advance at WOT.

I don't think it's the rev limiter at all. What's the flash tuner company saying on it?

This is a good post man. Will be interesting to see what this is.

did you have a typo in the numbers? because if you have your shift points at 5850 and your rev limiter at 5k thats a problem right there your supposed to have the rev limiter higher not lower then the shift point

I've got a D rev limiter that's now set at 5600
A N-Rev limiter that's now set at 3800
Wot 1-2 5500
Wot 2-3 5600
So if I had mine set to shift at 5800 and my D-Rev was set at 5600 it was fighting it self... Wow that's a newbie kind of feeling thanks for the advise!

No problem man if you can try to raise the D rev up to at least like 5800or 5900 because on the 2-3 it will still hit the rev limiter since the shift is at the same rpm
