If I am not mistaken, the hose part of the pvc system. A broken hose means you running unfiltered air directly into the crank case.

I do know that FCA changed the oil filter housing starting in 2014, so your Pentastar has the older design. I had a 2013 in our Grand Caravan and I don't recall if that plastic cage/tube can be removed from the lower housing or if it just snaps back in? You may need a new filter base.

I can't picture which hose you're referring to, but you won't want to drive long term without it connected.

For the temperature related issue, I'd suspect the electric cooling fan.

I have a 2012 3.6 in my Chrysler convertible and there is a known issue with the plastic end of the oil filter bypass valve breaking off during an oil change. The official Chrysler Co. fix is to replace the entire oil filter housing, which is a pretty big job.

Recently an inexpensive repair option has become available. It just replaces the part that broke off. Here is a YouTube video about it.

The part is available through the normal auto parts places but it's also available from Amazon. Here is a link. You need to get it fixed because all the oil is bypassing the filter when the part is broken.
