I have a 2013 Ram sport with 140,000 Kms. Yesterday driving home as I took a sharp left turn when I began to steer out of my turn the steering wheel pulled hard back to straight I thought maybe I hit a pot hole or maybe I was just crazy. The rest of my drive home is basically a straight drive so no other issues came about. As I got close to home I started playing around with the steering a bit trying to make it happen again (and it did) I quickly pulled it into my garage and crawled underneath, had my wife wiggle the steering wheel as I was under. There seems to be a slight knocking when moving the steering wheel only with the play befor even moving the wheels but by feel and look has nothing to do with ti rods. Took it to my mechanics at my work and after a scan they came up with a code for a failing integrated trailer brake module.... well guess what I don't have one on my truck I don't have the tow package why that code came up I don't know or maybe it was improperly diagnosed. After being told it was going to the dealership to be scanned I started playing around with it more and noticed even at a complete stop if i pulled hard enough or even quick enough to the left (and only left) my steering wheel would pull hard back to straight (like befor) and for a split second display "service power steering" on my dash board display and I could repeat this pull after pull on the wheel.

After lots of research I keep coming back to the electric power steering module which I guess was a new feature to the 2013 rams. Only problem being almost all info I saw stated the power steering had completely failed ( which I haven't had happen) for this diagnosis to be made along with a few other signs I haven't noticed. I guess the module is built right into the rack and all would have to be replaced which is $$$. Just wonderIng if anyone has run into anything like this or has any insight... Thanks
