2014 2500 Rear Axle and/or Hub seal replacement

I've got some diff fluid leaking around my drivers side rear wheel. Dealership said the Hub and axle seal need replaced. How can I determine if it's actually both or just one of them by looking at it without taking everything apart? I hate to pull the hub all the way off if it's just the axle seal. Also, anyone done this themselves? Any particular tools that make the job easier? I've seen a few Youtube videos and it seems pretty simple, but none of them are for my year truck 2014 2500. I know they changed the rear end of the 2500's in 2014 and went to the coil setup. I just want to make sure they didn't change the axle too and I find out it's a different procedure after it's already partially torn a part.....
