Hi all

I'm new here I just got back from rhino linings of de and I was getting a price on a leveling kit. The kit they use is readylift. They want 500$ for everything said and done. Than I was going to get cooper st maxx and run 305/55/20. Do I need anything special to run a level kit? What would be the difference if I just ordered like a rough country kit or something cheaper and had them install it or someone else. I'm new to lifting my truck but I want to level it. Need some advice. I'm sure it's here somewhere but I seem to can't find what I'm asking

Thanks

John

Simple answer. Bilstien 5100 adjustable shocks up front. Pee on readylift and their overpriced spacers. Sometimes I think I should advertise on here to do spacer installs, those mechanics make a killing, doing 1 hour of work.

So all you recommend are billistien 5100. Will I be able to run a 305/55/20. Could I do a rough country leveling kit instead. How should I go about doing this..

Or what would you recommend leveling kit wise besides readylift and the 5100's

You can do whatever you want :) . It would just be silly to waste money on spacers. Don't be in a hurry if you're on a budget... The shocks are worth it, anyone will tell you. Do some google searches on those shocks and the ram. 305/55/20 is basically just wider than stock. A safe, no rub option is 275/65/20. Its about a 34.5" tire at stock width and will fit with/without level.

*you're looking at $200 for the shocks.

Thanks guys. I'll be going with the 5100s. Do I need anything else for the 5100. And are they hard to install or should I have someone install them? What tires would you guys recommend. I was going to go with the st maxx but they only have 305/55/20 or 275/60/20. Any othe tire recommendations. I want aggressive but not mud tires and nothing really loud.

Yeah, go with the Bilsteins.

You won't need anything else but it's a good idea to check the alignment after the install is complete.

I haven't installed these on my truck (I went with a Tuff Country 2" spacer level kit on my 2500) but I'm sure someone else here has and can help with the installation info.

As far as tires I didn't like the STT's that were on my MegaCab. They needed to be re-balanced every 3 to 5K miles and they were noisy as hell. I got rid of them and put on a set of 285/75rx18 Toyo AT's. Those wore well and I liked them a lot.

I just put on a set of BFG TA K02's on my 2500 and they seem to be doing well. They are more expensive than the STT's but they are super quiet

I second the BFG KO2's , those are great tires. Imo I would avoid Nitto Terra Grapplers, too mushy, get louder after 10k and don't really look that appealing. There's a youtube video on the install, that a member made. It took me roughly 2 hours to do both sides. Rear spacers, if you decide to get them will take about 30 mins.

no you need two bilstein 5100 adjustable struts. rear bils do nothing over the stockers. rear coil spring spacers will or will not be needed depending on what setting you set bils at and what factory rake is

So if I want to max out the bills I'll probably need rear spacers
