2014 Ram Express Audio Upgrades?

No problem, you won't be disappointed if you go this route. Eventually (maybe?) Kicker is supposed to make the plug and play harness for the upgrade amp to power the base audio.

Will do, they have been steadfast working on new stuff, the harness was just another piece. The dang connectors were the issue from the factory radio.

I plan to do this upgrade over the barn full of stuff we have, it sounds good, and its simple.

The plug and play system is not for everyone. The VSS system is a simple upgrade that has an amp for the front with built in DSP and a powered sub, that is literally plug and play. If you had to compare to buying aftermarket, you need two amps, wiring, a LOC, speaker wire, RCA, custom sub box made, buy a DSP, etc.

But for your regular cab, we don't make a VSS system. Its for QC and CC Rams.

So for your system, it would be best to purchase aftermarket amp and components.

I may be wrong but I think he was referring to the 10" subwoofer only. I didn't realize from your original post that you had a regular cab. For that you would need something that would tuck away behind the seat and possibly a low profile sub as well.

You would still benefit from the front speaker set both in terms of ease of installation and sound quality over factory. The dash speakers will take about 15 minutes to replace and the door speakers about 30.

Does the regular cab have rear speakers? In other words, is it a 6 speaker setup like the quad and crew cabs or is it only 4, two in the dash and two in the door?

If you want an inexpensive upgrade, yes, do the 6x9 coax, or do the 6x9 midbass and coax 3.5" in the RC. There are back speakers, don't upgrade those. This would be the easier and more inexpensive mod, yet dramatically change the sound.

The 6x9 midbass and tweeter upgrade is a big upgrade over the factory speakers! It really moves the sound stage towards thew front like it should be. You can also blast down the interstate with the windows down and still here the stereo too

Still a wonderful truck, really looked at them Saturday.
The simple Kicker Mopar speaker upgrade is easy, inexpensive, and a great upgrade over the paper coned factory ones.

I already have the front door 6x9 kicker mid bass and tweeter dash combo (28) . I understand I have to buy the same set up again with the tweeter to do it. I can sell a tweeter easy enough .

If a RC, add a Kicker Hideaway under drivers seat, tap into front door, powered 8" sub.
Had one in my 2011 for years.

I guess my question should of been , wouldn't it be better to add another kicker 6x9 mid bass to the rear corner of the reg cab vs leaving the OE 6x9 . It would reinforce the bass some plus maybe help the tweeters blend in a little better by raising the level of the mids up some . The tweeters are a bit loud at this point especially the drivers side . Probably windshield reflection . I can work on that some

Forget rear speakers totally, use money on the Hideway, way better investment.
