hey guys,
Just purchased a used 1 owner very clean 2014 Ram Bighorn. 79k miles, 5.7 motor.

It has had a gas cap message and light on since purchase. I took to a ram dealership after purchase to have it looked at. They state their is a evap leak , and a pressure regulator sensor fault. And want 750.00 to fix it. I turned it down.

Well, I noticed on the car fax when it was traded in the dealer where I purchased it they replaced the fuel sending unit.

So as the story continues

I turned down the dealer and let them do some recalls on the truck ( 4 ) while it was there. I get the truck back and the gas cap light is OFF. I’m assuming due to the ECM flashes and reprogram, well 1 day later it comes back on. So I get up under the truck and notice a plug unplugged on top of the gas tank on the rear. So naturally I plugged it back in and disconnected the negative battery cable and the light went out. It’s been out for 1 day now. Any idea what this plug is? Looks like it was plugged into a small sensor of some sorts.. maybe that was the fix? Time will tell..
