Hello,

This is my first post in RAMFORUM.

2014 ram sport crew 4x4 air suspension.

Looking to lift the unit a bit.

going with 285/60,r20 dirtytracs!

As for the lift, how would say a 3 inch body lift work? Also does one have to level it?

This is her! Below

Looks good.. I'm looking for answers to the same question in regards to lift, but am preferring the suspension lift vs the body lift. I'm a jeep guy first, suspension tuning is crucial to me.... Either way, If I find answers, I'll post here..

Nice truck! You can't do any sort of leveling kit because you have the air ride. That being said air ride is supposed to sit level anyways. The only lift you'll be able to do would be a body lift. PA makes a great body lift with everything you'll need! However I'd definitely recommend you also get the PA gap Guards to go with the body lift. I say this because the salt and sand will cover the bottom of the engine, and you don't want that!

If you haven't done one before, basically a body lift puts spacers in between the frame and body of the truck. If you'll be offroading frequently or riding rough offroad I wouldn't recommend a body lift. Personally I did a 2" level with a 3" body lift. It works great for the money and I won't be doing any serious offroading so I went body!

As for the tires: duratracs are amazing in the snow! They work better than the snow tires that I had last year. They have like a super grip lol. They hum a bit but personally I love that! As for the size, if you're putting a 3" body lift on I'd go with a 275/65/20 over a 285/60/20. Reason being is that the size you're talking about is only a bit wider, no higher. It won't look as good with the shorter tires. A 275/65/20 is the same width as stock but is 1.5" taller. That will look more appropriate with the height of your truck.

With a body lift you'll need to adjust your exhaust tips. I've attached attached pic of how mine looked before and how they look now with the exhaust raised and added 5" tips.

I've also attached a pic showing the front wheel well. That's why you'll want the Gap Guards. Sorry for it being upside down!

I've seen a few posts by other air suspension owners that leveled their trucks via adjustable links that attach to the height sensors.

I had that size duratrac's on my 13 Lone Star 4x4 they actually fit my truck stock height bet looked better after the dealer installed the 2" level. Should look good with the 3" body lift. You may want to look at a 285/65 with 3" body lift since you should have some good clearance. I haven't seen a body lift only on a 4th gen only a 3rd gen.

Zone is one of the best lifts, not badly priced either

Ill second Zone. Sister company of BDS that isnt overly priced, only a couple hundred dollars more then the same rough country kit.

And the Protection Plus drivetrain warranty Zone gives you for free would be key for you on a 2014 . . . Especially if your dealer tries to screw you over on the factory warraty because of the lift

If I were in your position ( wish I was lol - beautiful truck ! ). Since your truck already gets a 2" lift on the fly lol. a ZONE 1.5" Body Lift would look absolutely sick I think.

285/60/20's only give you an additional 1/2" of height, and just slightly wider over the factory tires. just something to think about.

If your going 4" lift I would probably look at the 325/60r20 duratrac's. The 285/69 might look small. They aren't much bigger than stock.

This is for sure . . . I pulled my wheels w/35's off for the winter, and I'm rollin on my factories with 285/60R20 Silent Armours . . . With the 4" lift it just plain looks goofy . . . Gotta do it though . . . Not gonna trash my new wheels in the salty Ohio winter . . . i'll put 275/65R20's on em for the winter when the Armours wear out . . . They are 34" tall and will look OK

The stock tires on the 20s measure it to 33 and look tiny.. Funny because the 33s on my jeeps looked good...

Had 33's on my 98 Cherokee and they were massive ... 33's on a lifted Ram are like spare tires ... Lol

I've got a zone6/5 lift and love it. Got stock 20" rims on it and it's real close to the knuckle
