Long story short, I want to trade my 2014 17 inch rims for 2018 17 inch rims with a different tire. Same rims, same truck, different year, different tire. Would the TPMS sensor work in both vehicles? Was there a change between 2014 and 2018?

If I am not mistaken, I think they have different frequencies.

I don’t think it’ll be an issue, I sold my 2017 Laramie wheels to someone with a 2015 and he didn’t have issues at all.

2013, 2014 used different sensor frequencies, so I doubt they will work.

I can tell you the set of OEM wheels, tires and TPMSs I bought from a 2015 Ram 1500 owner synced right up to my 2017 Ram 1500, never setting a warning light, message, etc. After I swapped wheels, I took it for a test spin. For the first 2 miles or so, the tire pressures for the original set were locked in. Then it refreshed to the new set. No issues, no programming, etc. I wish all make/model vehicles were so awesome in regards to TPMS.
